Crooked Briar Mercantile offers tarot readings, custom spellwork, and other spiritual services intended to provide insight, support, and practical tools for your own practice.
Magic and divination are personal things. These policies are here so you know what you can expect from me, what I expect from you, and where the boundaries of my practice lie.
Tarot Readings
Tarot is a tool for insight, reflection, and exploring the patterns and possibilities surrounding a situation. It does not determine your future or take away your ability to choose what happens next. Humans have free will, after all.
Questions should center on you, your circumstances, your choices, or your relationship to a situation. I do not use tarot to investigate another person's private thoughts, actions, intentions, or circumstances without their participation or consent.
Every Crooked Briar tarot reading is personally performed and written by me. Your cards are physically shuffled and drawn for your question, and you'll receive a photograph of the cards from your reading.
Tarot readings are not a substitute for medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
Spellwork & Magical Services
Every working is considered according to the request, the circumstances, and the method I believe is appropriate.
I may adapt ingredients, timing, methods, or the overall approach as needed. If you're purchasing a spellwork recipe to perform yourself, I'll provide the information you need to carry it out, including substitutions when appropriate.
You don't need to know exactly what kind of spell you need. Tell me what you're trying to accomplish, and I'll determine how I would approach the work.
I do not use one universal list to determine what magical work I will or will not perform. Some requests require more consideration than others, and I reserve the right to accept, decline, adapt, or suggest a different approach to any request.
If I'm not willing to take on a request, I'll tell you.
Results & Guarantees
Magic and tarot involve circumstances, choices, actions, timing, and factors that are outside my control.
Specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
What I can guarantee is that the service you purchase will be personally performed or created for your request. Custom work is not pulled from a generic library or automatically generated and passed off as individualized work.
Magical work also does not replace mundane action. When there are practical steps that can support the goal of a working, I may recommend them alongside the magical work.
Cancellations & Refunds
Custom Spellwork
Custom spellwork may be canceled for a full refund before I begin working on your request.
Once I have begun researching, planning, designing, writing, preparing, or otherwise working on your custom request, the purchase is nonrefundable. This applies even if the finished work has not yet been delivered.
If I decline your request before beginning work, your payment will be refunded in full.
Tarot Readings
Tarot readings may be canceled for a full refund before I begin your reading. Once I have begun shuffling, drawing cards, interpreting, or writing your reading, the purchase is nonrefundable.
If I decline a reading before beginning, your payment will be refunded in full.
A disagreement with an interpretation or dissatisfaction with an outcome does not qualify for a refund once the service has been performed.
Turnaround & Delivery
Written tarot readings are generally delivered by email within 24–72 hours.
Custom spellwork recipes are generally delivered by email as a PDF within 3–5 business days.
Commissioned workings may have different turnaround times depending on the work involved. Some magical work may also call for particular timing, such as a specific day, moon phase, or other appropriate window. If timing will substantially affect when your working is performed, I'll let you know.
Turnaround times begin once I have the information necessary to complete your request.
Privacy
Your questions, circumstances, readings, and magical work are treated as private.
I will not publicly share the details of your reading or working, including photographs, written excerpts, or identifying information, without your permission.
If I would like to share an anonymized excerpt, testimonial, photograph, or example from your work, I will ask first. Permission to share something anonymously does not give permission to identify you.
Customer information is not sold.
Right to Refuse Service
Crooked Briar Mercantile reserves the right to decline any reading, working, or request at my discretion.
I am not required to provide a detailed explanation for declining a request.
If I decline a paid service before work has begun, the applicable payment will be refunded.
I may also stop or decline future service when a customer repeatedly disregards stated boundaries, behaves abusively, or intentionally misuses the services I provide.
Personal Responsibility
Tarot, spellwork, and other spiritual services are intended as tools for personal insight, spiritual practice, and support. They are not substitutes for qualified medical, mental health, legal, financial, or other professional services.
You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, and their consequences.
Nothing offered by Crooked Briar Mercantile should be understood as a promise that a particular event will occur or that a particular person will behave in a certain way.
Age Requirement
Tarot readings and custom magical services are available only to customers who are 18 years of age or older.
Respect for the Practice
You don't need to share my beliefs or practice magic the way I do.
You do need to approach the work and the person performing it with basic respect. Questions, skepticism, and curiosity are welcome. Deliberate disrespect, harassment, or attempts to use a service in ways that violate the boundaries stated here are not.
